Legend

Jordan Atwater, born December 20th, 1993, is a hip hop artist who is known professionally by the name of Legend. Not only is he a rapper, but he writes, produces and engineers his own music. He likes to represent his hometown, East Moline, at the various venues he’s performed in, throughout the country!

Legend started his music career in 2008, when he performed with his 8th Grade group, BXS, at the Glenview Middle School talent show. He had entertained as one of the talent show’s MC’s, while performing, along with his advisory class, a remix he wrote and recorded to “Crank Dat Soulja Boy”, called “Crank Dat Calculator.” The song and performance gained so much attention that B100 (99.7) interviewed the teacher of the advisory class and played the song on their station. From there, he began to take his music career more seriously, which lead to more showcases and more performance opportunities to open for major industrymartists, such as Twista, Travis Porter, Trina, Lil' Wil, Lil' Wyte, Lord Infamous, Bone Crusher, Lil' Flip and WWF/WWE Legend, Gangrel and recently opening for Lil' Wayne and O.T. Genasis at the largest venue in the Quad Cities area, the iWireless Center in Moline, IL. 

Currently, Legend has gained the opportunity to record an eight track project with EDM specialist, DJ EDi Spinz. He has turned those tracks into an EP, called Champagne Gold, executive produced by Larell “Big L On The Track” Wash, set to release Summer, 2016. Legend’s overall goal is to become a mainstream artist that can change the face of music. He wants to guide music away from the negative rep that it gets as hip-hop, and turn it into something that is relatable. Eventually, he would like to create more opportunities for artists who have no outlet and are steered towards the wrong direction, while investing back into his community.
