Legion of the Dying

Legion of the Dying are amongst a breed of musicians that will never burn out or fade away. They describe themselves as a “metal band that turns your ear on its side with its unique combination of power metal strength and brutal death vocals.” Somewhat new to the local scene, they are showing all of the determination a young band may endure when they absolutely are passionate about what they are doing.

They describe themselves with playful sarcasm, but sing tales of treacherous battles. They speak of war using a grueling assault of thick vocals and titillating guitar work. They share stories of triumph in “March On” where they will “Convert the survivors to join for our cause, Our army has doubled today, We survey the countless dead, As we let loose, the hounds, of war!”

Survival encompasses “Drakenscale”…a noble delight of defending ones own performed in a passionate blaze of resuscitating riffs, radiating solos and restrained vocals. And who could leave out “Mjolnir”…a mass of metal brutality at its finest. Guided by demonic vocals, the riffs produced by these guitarists are absolutely amazing. Drums are heart-pounding echoes in your chest…the ones you can still feel long after you’ve left a show.

Legion of the Dying may be one of those bands where you’ll have to wear extra padding at a show because I have a feeling there’s a lot of bodies getting tossed around when these guys hit the stage.
