Bio

LEGION X BIO - 2009 Legion X is a five-member wrecking crew that demolishes all boundaries and steps outside the realm of the normal metal genre. Furthermore, the band's sound cannot be described in a simple sentence. With influences ranging from Pantera, Tool, Ozzy and Slayer, expect to be assaulted with Legion X's insanely fast drumbeats, intricate yet still brutal guitar riffs, bass lines, and solos, and their enormous vocals. The band takes the crowd to a scene of destruction, pillaging, and general craziness, pulling even the most unsuspecting and innocent bystander into the debauchery. The most integral component of what sets the band apart from today's other run-of-the-mill metal acts is the electrifying display of raw energy exhibited during their live performances that Legion X guarantees to bring to the table every show, every venue, every time. Since its creation in 2004, Legion X has been an unstoppable force tearing its way through the southern states. The year 2006 proved to be a very succesful jumpstart for the band, with countless out-of-state shows and tours in the Southeast area. They also performed alongside headlining national acts such as Nile, Faceless, Mushroomhead, Goatwhore, and others. After making radio appearances on local Atlanta radio stations Project 9-6-1 and WREK 91.1 to promote, Legion closed out 2006 right with the release of their first EP, Demonic Hour. Unfortunatley, in early 2007, the band was brought to an unsuspected standstill when lead guitarist Roy Wilkerson was hospitalized for a month after having massive seizures. For over a year afterwards, Roy was in and out of the hospital, and even though the members of Legion X have deep love and respect for Roy and continue to support him throughout his illness, the band was unable to continue on with the same lineup. Luckily, the year 2008 was a dawn of a new life for Legion X. When the official lineup was assembled in mid 2008, Legion X began scouring the Georgia and Tennessee area, reinforcing their name in the Atlanta area and crushing all preconceived ideas about the band. The band has participated in and won several local battle of the bands and played a phenomenal homecoming show in their hometown area. The most recent accomplishment for this upcoming national act was a tour of the southern and midwestern states in January 2009, traveling to venues along the bottom portion of the United States.also playing with bands such as SOILWORK,NAPALM DEATH, FACELESS,DESTRUCTION , KATAKLYSM and many more this year . Legion X is looking forward to recording at the end of 2009 and releaseing a new cd in early 2010 , will be touring the rest of the year to promote the new release .
