Biography

With the digital era enveloping the music business more everyday, one name is starting to change the mold for modern music: Leigh Brandon Houison. Drawing his influences from Soul, Trip-Hop and R&B, this one of a kind artist gives a breath of fresh air to today’s music industry. The singer/drummer combo delivers a powerful concoction of raw musical talent and longevity that only comes with great song writing and an enchanting live presence. ------------ Since his birth, Leigh Brandon Houison (the principal song writer and front man of Brandon’s Burning) has known nothing but music. Born and raised in London, England at the height of the 80’s British Pop Culture, he is no stranger to the media and buzz of a multi-cultural, cosmopolitan city. With his mother being a Professional Singer and his father a Recording Engineer/Producer, music quite literally is in Leigh’s blood. He began taking piano lessons at the tender age of 5 years old and has been tutored by numerous modern piano and keyboard players from all over England. Leigh was never phased by stardom, whether sitting on Ringo Starr’s knee as a young boy, watching his mom work, hanging about at Abbey Road Studios whilst mom was doing a vocal session for Stewart Copeland or sitting in on band rehearsals for artistes such as Brian May, Extreme or Phillip Bailey. By the time he turned 16, he had made the conscious decision to join the realms of the music industry. “I have never felt pressure from any of my family to enter the music business. They have always shown full support in whatever I chose to do, as long as I strived to be the best at it. It is solely my choice to make music, as there is nothing else in the world I want to do more. Though Leigh may not have been a pro-vocalist, that didn’t stop him from getting involved in several professional projects during his early school years. He sang on numerous recording sessions including foreign television commercials and even a collaborative Christmas album that was released in Europe. Leigh also sang back up vocals for Elton John on the widely viewed National Lottery Show in his home country. Over the next couple of years Leigh gained invaluable experience working as a junior engineer in various recording studios in London whilst concentrating on finishing high-school, which he did easily graduating with an ‘A’ in AP Music. After relocating to the US in 2001, Leigh continued his higher education in music, completing his 2 year AA and AS degrees in Music Production. In 2003 Leigh relocated to Florida Atlantic University, where he continued studying Music Business and Music Production, during which time, he worked on countless musical collaborations from Funk, Rock and Jazz groups, to writing music with and for other local artists. It was here at FAU that Leigh met the talented & aspiring drummer Matt Crowning and they have since been playing music together, and Leigh hasn’t looked back. He is a talented and prolific songwriter who has a keen eye and a developed ear for what is current and popular in the charts today. Armed with a passion for the music business and a life long goal of discovering and producing the artists of today, Leigh Brandon Houison is fast becoming a strong force laying down the musical foundation of tomorrow.

Lyrics

I Wanna

Written By: Leigh Brandon Houison

V1 Intro:

Summertime, and I’m feelin’ easy.
You bring the wine and we’ll have us some fun.

V1:

Bring you’re body over here now, baby let me ease your stress,
And you’ll be feelin’ me in places you ain’t even ever heard of yet.
Let me slip you out of that blach lace lingerie
And we’ll be makin’ love through all screams and moans
To fill erotic dreams and we’ll be hot
‘til both out bodies stop.

Half Chorus:

Woman, I wanna be in you ‘till I am you…
Woman, I wanna be in you ‘till I am you…

V2:

Baby, let me feel your silhouette as we be dancing in the dark.
All the crazy dreams you have of me, so unbelievable to see
Will tear you apart.
And I’ll slip inside the heart of your minds eye.
Let me lay you down and blow your mind, leave all the other boys behind. I’ll take my time ‘til both our bodies stop.

Chorus:

Woman, I wanna be in you ‘till I am you…
Woman, I wanna be in you ‘till I am you…
Baby disappointment you will never feel
When our bodies come together it’ll be unreal
Woman, I wanna be in you ‘till I am you…

V3:

Bring you’re body over here now, baby let me ease your stress,
And you’ll be feelin’ me in places you ain’t even ever heard of yet.
Let me fill your mind, with nothing but tonight.
And we’ll be makin’ love through all screams and moans
To fill erotic dreams and we’ll be hot
‘til both out bodies stop.

Chorus: repeat

Payback

Written By: Leigh Brandon Houison

Verse 1:
I walk into the room, all eyes are stuck on me,
They feel the tension, the heat that’s been consuming me,
You don’t know how long I’ve been waiting to be standing here,
In front of you… unexpectedly.

Now I can see that your squirming right there, you’re writhing,
I make you feel out of place and you don’t like it,
You shrug it off to your friends, they’re cheap! They’re weak!
And it gets adrenaline pumping through me.

Pre 1:
You don’t know what you’ve done to me,
You won’t face it, so I wait for the day that
You can’t take this pressure anymore,
Until that day, I wait for the payback.

Pre 2:
So think about what it takes to get you sleeping right,
And whatever the hell it takes to keep you safe at night,
‘Cause I’ll be coming back for you,
Whatever you may put me through
And I won’t be giving up without a fight.

Chorus:
Don’t you think that I
Still remember why
Every time you try and take a piece of me your hands are broken
And you can’t take this weight I’ve been holding
But tonight this whole world is on my side…
I’m taking back my life.

Verse 2:
I see you sliding, sneaking
Across the dance floor, towards the back door,
No more hide and seekin’,
I’ve seen it before, and you can’t run anymore.

Cause there ain’t no escaping me,
No more bull-shitting you as far as I can see,
This prison is real, and you hold the key,
Just one more battle (and I’ll be free).

Pre 1:
You don’t know what you’ve done to me,
You won’t face it, so I wait for the day that
You can’t take this pressure anymore,
Until that day, I wait for the payback.

Pre 4:
So think about what it takes to get you sleeping right,
And whatever the hell it takes to keep you safe at night,
‘Cause I’ll be coming back for you,
Whatever you may put me through,
And I won’t be giving up without a fight.

Chorus:
Don’t you think that I
Still remember why,
Every time you try to take a piece of me your hands are broken,
And you can’t take this weight I’ve been holding,
‘Cause tonight this whole world is on my side…
I’m taking back my life.

A New Breed

Written By: Leigh Brandon Houison

Verse 1:
This is for he who shoves his head down in the fire,
And walks a mile for every inch of his desire.
‘Cause when his strength is gone he’ll here this song
When the brink of desperation spawns,
To turn him from the man they knew to a figure they admire…

…This is for he who shoves his head down in the fire.

Verse 2:
This is for that girl who made a stand for what is right.
Instead of running and hiding, chose to stay and fight.
Cause when they held her down against the floor,
She felt something break through the door,
Now it’s hard to hold her down with Mother Nature on her side…

Pre chorus:
Ignore the facts of life,
And forget what’s wrong or right,
Then imagine that it might begin with you…

Chorus:
‘Cause we all need heroes,
We all need someone to turn to,
So thank every hero
For doing what they do… for doing what we should do.

Verse 3:
So now you’re standing the wounded lion’s den,
And you think of those who’ve crossed the line and made it back again,
And you hear that inspiration song,
It kicks you back where you belong,
‘Cause coward’s eyes and compromise are not what makes us strong.

Tragic

Written By: Leigh Brandon Houison

Verse1:
He washed the red stains from his hands,
Hoping this time that she’d notice.
And he just stood there in the mirror,
With heavy heart and a closed fist.

As he wiped that bloody canvas from his mind,
He pictures her in that dark blue satin dress.
He cries baby I am tired and I’m coming home,
She’ll say I love you in that soft and gentle tone.

Pre-Chorus:
He says baby you don’t know,
The pain you put me through,
You’ve just got this hold on me,

Chorus:
Just let me be your man (2nd V. “girl) (3rd V. “the one baby),
And this will be the last time I give it all away,
Through another tragic love song.

Verse2:
She walked down fifth street to the park,
When he caught her unaware,
With the red still in his clothes, and in his hair.

He said my life will fall apart,
If you don’t come along,
He cries: tell me why you’re hiding in the dark,
And show me what you’ve done.

Pre-Chorus

Chorus

He took her back to where he’d sweat and bled, for days on end,
To see what was hanging above his bed,
And though she was scared and tried to leave and nothing more was said,
Something made her stop and turn her head.

For up there on the wall, her portrait stood so strong,
Painted in the deepest red, how could she have been so wrong,
He tells her “please don’t go, I’ve worked too hard to sing this tragic love song,
“And I’ll never leave you, I’ve loved you way too long.

Only You

Written By: Leigh Brandon Houison

You and i girl have no one,
and that's how we want it.
You see in this world,
the scared ones will always be haunted.

Forgive me now cause i need your body, hold me now cause i need your touch, control me now cause i could hurt somebody, chew me up spit me out, make me feel like i might want to...

change the way i look at you
and only you will
crave the way i look at you and only you will do.

Now i've got you here and you can't contain yourself,
you wanna get down with me but are you really ready to take that leap,
cause i've been waiting for so long,
forever and a day that never seems to come, until now... somehow.

Sacrifice

Written By: Leigh Brandon Houison

I lived and breathed you girl, like a picture perfect memory,
thought we were happy once,
i was so naive.

You ripped my heart away,
tore my soul from under me,
the hurt and the suffering have set me free.

Leave me alone,
make me feel like i don't belong,
leave me alone,
i've got to face this on my own.

I sacrifice my everything,
everything to me,
all that you can see,
now my whole world is empty,
cause you won;t stand with me, now you'll see.

My life used to play like an instrument in vain,
now every song i sing falls down in flames.
i gave in to my self,
those cruel words in my head again,
spinning this damming world round and round, and it can't be mended.
