With the digital era enveloping the music business more everyday, one name is starting to change the mold for modern music: Leigh Brandon Houison. Drawing his influences from Soul, Trip-Hop and R&B, this one of a kind artist gives a breath of fresh air to today’s music industry. The singer/drummer combo delivers a powerful concoction of raw musical talent and longevity that only comes with great song writing and an enchanting live presence. ------------ Since his birth, Leigh Brandon Houison (the principal song writer and front man of Brandon’s Burning) has known nothing but music. Born and raised in London, England at the height of the 80’s British Pop Culture, he is no stranger to the media and buzz of a multi-cultural, cosmopolitan city. With his mother being a Professional Singer and his father a Recording Engineer/Producer, music quite literally is in Leigh’s blood. He began taking piano lessons at the tender age of 5 years old and has been tutored by numerous modern piano and keyboard players from all over England. Leigh was never phased by stardom, whether sitting on Ringo Starr’s knee as a young boy, watching his mom work, hanging about at Abbey Road Studios whilst mom was doing a vocal session for Stewart Copeland or sitting in on band rehearsals for artistes such as Brian May, Extreme or Phillip Bailey. By the time he turned 16, he had made the conscious decision to join the realms of the music industry. “I have never felt pressure from any of my family to enter the music business. They have always shown full support in whatever I chose to do, as long as I strived to be the best at it. It is solely my choice to make music, as there is nothing else in the world I want to do more.� Though Leigh may not have been a pro-vocalist, that didn’t stop him from getting involved in several professional projects during his early school years. He sang on numerous recording sessions including foreign television commercials and even a collaborative Christmas album that was released in Europe. Leigh also sang back up vocals for Elton John on the widely viewed National Lottery Show in his home country. Over the next couple of years Leigh gained invaluable experience working as a junior engineer in various recording studios in London whilst concentrating on finishing high-school, which he did easily graduating with an ‘A’ in AP Music. After relocating to the US in 2001, Leigh continued his higher education in music, completing his 2 year AA and AS degrees in Music Production. In 2003 Leigh relocated to Florida Atlantic University, where he continued studying Music Business and Music Production, during which time, he worked on countless musical collaborations from Funk, Rock and Jazz groups, to writing music with and for other local artists. It was here at FAU that Leigh met the talented & aspiring drummer Matt Crowning and they have since been playing music together, and Leigh hasn’t looked back. He is a talented and prolific songwriter who has a keen eye and a developed ear for what is current and popular in the charts today. Armed with a passion for the music business and a life long goal of discovering and producing the artists of today, Leigh Brandon Houison is fast becoming a strong force laying down the musical foundation of tomorrow.
