LeiLeigh West

My name is LeiLeigh West. I have been a songwriter/performer all my life. I started writing at the age of three and shortly after started piano lessons. I continued in piano through my sophomore year of high school. During these years I wrote contemporary classical songs (sometimes with voice, sometimes with other classical instruments). I won state and regional composition competitions for the Music Teachers National Associate for a few years. I placed as first runner up Nationally my freshman year of high school. After my sophomore year of high school I had some personal difficulties and I stopped music cold turkey for the next two years. During my freshman year of college, while volunteering at a nursing home I met a crippled girl who inspired me to get back into music. This time I decided I wanted to rock! This is when I started writing rock, pop, jazz, rap, country, Christian and other genres of music. A year later I picked up the guitar and simple loved it. I am 100% dedicated to becoming the best in the business within the next five years (I'm ambitious) and rocking on from there. I also write commercial jingles for those that are interested. Some of my other talents include filmmaking (I'm currently a senior film student at the Univ. of Colorado), drawing, story writing, poetry, photoshop, martial arts, and chinese language.
