Biography

The Man Behind The Music

Soulful singer songwriter Lejay Styles, believes that music has a powerful influence on today’s society. Influenced by the likes of Bill Withers, Stevie Wonder, Kirk Franklin, Baby Face, Yolanda Adams, and Phil Collins, just to name a few. Styles believes and understands that music is written based on life experiences, and what’s in the writers heart. Blessed with multiple gifts from God, the talented Lejay Styles, with his soulfully dynamic vocal ability and his incredible writing styles, wishes to share his talented blessings with all who has ears to hear. Styles reveals to us that he was not always a vocalist, “I first became interested in music at a very early age, I remember as a child, well after my bedtime, sneaking into the garage hiding under the coffee table and watching my uncle rehearse with his band. The horn section is what really got my attention, especially the saxophone. Once I held the sax for the first time, that was it for me. I had to get involved with music.”

As director of The WhoSoEver Will Christian Crusades, Styles believes that all of our blessings are tied together. Whenever possible Styles, along with the crusade team host gospel concerts in parks, sometimes feeding the homeless and the hungry. “ Music should be used as a positive influence in our communities, music is a very powerful tool. Sometimes we all go through the problem storms of life and there are times when we all need a little help, sometimes a kind word can give a person the motivation he or she needs to make it through that storm. Music should be used to lift people up, lead them to life, and not break them down.”

As host and producer of the Gospel Styles Show, Styles gives an opportunity to Christian artist trying to make it into the Christian/Gospel music industry.“I understand just how difficult it is trying to break in as a new artist, especially if you are an artist that has not had the opportunity to sing behind or work with one of the major artist in the industry. There are a lot of talented people out there and my goal is to give them an opportunity to be seen on television.
