Ronald Vitaly Constant, “Lejend”, best known for his witty lyrics, vocal charisma, and catchy delivery, brings a new persona to the music industry that is bound to turn heads and define future market trends. Born in the former Soviet Union, he immigrated to the United States and spent most of his childhood in West Palm Beach, Fl. His life seems like the cliché rags to riches story, but considering the genre of music he represents, Lejend’s background is one of a kind. His image is far from the stereotypical rap artist but after taking a listen to his music, his appeal is in a sense magnified by what many would call “incongruence” between his sound and his appearance. Incessantly referring to himself as the “First Russian Rapper”, he unintentionally creates a shock value in the market and among listeners, who are not only surprised with his nationality but are pleased with his music and originality. He has proven his potential on a small scale in West Palm Beach where he placed in the top 2 on 102.3 local love and is still has 3 singles in rotation on 93.3 fm. Now, at 19 years of age, he made a big move to Atlanta, Ga where he is dealing with the music industry on a much larger scale. His new album incorporates instrumentals from well known underground producers Justin Kahler (AOR Productions) and Embassy “The Hitmaker” who have both marketed instrumentals to famous rappers and R & B groups such as T.I., Pretty Ricky, etc. Record executives, A & R’s, and in some cases, known rappers are now paying attention and giving deserved credit to Lejend. Many things to consider are his originality, diversity, talent, and consistency which make him a possible candidate for the next “big rapper” in the music industry.
