Bio

Lëk Sèn grew up in Ngor, a small fisherman village near Dakar in Senegal. Inhabited by music since he was a child, he expressed himself rapping in the band SSK. Their style has evolved with maturity, and they start in february 2006 a collaboration with Parisian musicians of Louxor Station.

Their work in common has been rewarded by the album « Jog Bala Nacc » out in Senegal in 2007, in partnership with KIDAM Video Association (Paris) and Radio Nostalgie (Dakar), as well as their selection as finalists of the Prix Découvertes RFI 2007. Their song « Dance All » has also been broadcasted on radio, TV and in the stadiums for the African Cup of Nations 2010 by one of the official sponsors of the ACN.
In parallel to his activities within SSK, Lëk Sèn has done several shows in Senegal, accompanied by the band Zion Rythme.

Now living in Paris, Lëk Sèn has worked his own songs on guitar, in a more acoustic style with afro-folk-blues sonorities, tinged with his profound and touching voice.

Lëk sèn has just recorded in Paris during the autumn 2009 his first solo album, produced by LOUXOR STATION.

This album was co-written by Lek Sen (voice, guitar, lyrics and composition), Yvo Abadi (drums, percs, compo.), Miguel Saboga (drums, percs, compo.) and Adrien Biehler (guitar, bass, keyboards, compo.).
Numerous artists have participated in the recording of this album, such as Amadou Bagayoko (Amadou et Mariam), Yvo Abadi (Amadou & Mariam, Tarmac, Emilie Simon, Houria Aichi …), Julia Sarr (Lokua Kanza, Youssou Ndour, Alpha Blondy, Femi Kuti…), Medhi Haddad (Ekova, Speed Caravan…), Jeff Kellner (Souad Massi, Tony Allen…), Boubacar Dembélé (Amadou et Mariam…), Kiddus I, Miguel Saboga (BazBaz, Mano Negra…), Adrien Biehler (Ben’Bop…), and Manuel Faivre.
