""Six Lazzeri Lane" - Lem Genovese"

By JAMIE LEE RAKE

Lem Genovese, from Holmen,WI
may be a Vietnam and Desert Storm veteran, but he sings of his military experience, among other important topics with the verve of a younger man. Vocally, he could be mistaken for Madison, WI folkie
Ken Lonnquist, but Genovese's often funky acoustic guitar skills take that comparison only so far.
Whether he is laying down some tasty instrumentals or singing a prayer for post 9/11 troops as on "Endangered" or the symbiotic relationship between celebrities and gossip magazines in "High Maintenance", he finds a nice niche between Gordon Lightfoot's groove and Bruce Cockburn's expansive instrumental explorations.
Funny that an artist so resolutely American would appear to be influenced by a couple of Canadians, but Genovese's generosity of spirit and concern
for his fellow vets and military families make it all work well.
- Sheperd Express - Milwaukee, WI / 27 July o8

"Arts of War On the Web - Marc Leepson"

" ...and I'm here to tell you "SIX LAZZERI LANE" is a terrific collection of first rate, mellow
rocking music. Genovese is a guitar wiz, and he shows off his talents on all nine of the original tunes that make up this long awaited CD.
All of his tunes, especially the instrumentals like "Elegy For The Fallen" (written for Gold Star Families) and the title cut that he performs on his Taylor maple Leo Kottke model 12 and 6-string acoustic-electric guitars are snappy, soaring and SOULFUL.
On this new album he dedicates songs to today's troops
"Endangered", Desert Storm vets -
"Cruisin'On This Groove"and is also a terrfic performer onstage. - www.vva.org / August 30th, 2008

"Scouting REPORT / July 18th, 2006"

" I know when I scout players, we look for ability and a desire of the individual to perform with real inspiration and to say the least, Lem and his group really sang and played from the heart.
In baseball terminology, it was truly "MAJOR LEAGUE MATERIAL". - Los Angeles Dodgers - Jerry Raddatz

Bio

FOUR decades of original genre bending material from acoustic guitarist/tunesmith
Lem G. { "jen-oh-VAYZ } only scratches the surface. He has performed nationwide from 1975 to present on behalf of military families and veterans because he's actually been there and done that. He is retired Army and Guard veteran of both Vietnam and Desert Storm.
From 2 "Hoot Nights" at the Troubador in Los Angeles in 1979, to the Petrillo Band shell in Grant Park - Chicago, Illinois (1985) to the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid along the Hudson River in NYC (1983) to the
Dedication Weekend for the VN Veterans Memorial in Washington DC in November of 1982, Lem Genovese has
written and performed some of the most accurate and compelling material from this part of our American Heritage. This is material anyone who appreciates true
substance in their music will enjoy and support.
When you're tired of cover material from artists who can only "talk the talk" -- THIS is the real deal. You can't put a price tag on integrity or authenticity. This music is nothing short of living history.
