"The Get Down launches new gay party Peer Pressure"

But when Steve Lemmerman, nee DJ Lemz, got behind the tiny booth, the music improved dramatically. I can't recall the last time I heard Roisin Murphy at a club; maybe when she played Mansion in New York a couple of CMJs ago. Lemmerman played Crookers' relentless "Royal T," where she's featured.

Naturally, he also played new M.I.A., but unlike her recent set at Virgin Mobile FreeFest, it wasn't a mess. "XXXO" sounded as good as it does on the album. I didn't stay past one, but if he remixed "Teqkilla" later, the ensuing hoedown would have been worth the price of a Yuengling alone.

Lemmerman says that while he'll play top 40, he wants to spin less commercial stuff, like Boys Noize and local DJ Blaqstarr. That would be a change from the venues around now. - The Baltimore Sun

"guest dj spotlight: DJ LEMZ"

SHIFT is proud to bring back DJ LEMZ to open tonight! This boy has talent, is a prodigy if I have ever seen one, and is one of the few openers to break my nerves and draw me to the dancefloor before I go up and play. He has a huge future ahead of him, and we are really excited to bring him back before he becomes the star he's destined to be. Seriously, do not miss this boy's set (10:00p-12:30a), or I'll kneecap your grandma. - SHIFTdc

Blasting music from his turn tables, boasting energy into the crowds and partying into the rise of the Sun, DJ Lemz is one dope mixer! Just landing in back to Baltimore from the SXSW event in Texas and DJ-ing all over B-More and DC, this dude is def on his grind. He just released two dope mixes that will have the kids snapping and the ladies shaking like a pom pom! Check them out! - Eat On This

So you are looking for something to do this Friday? Well, I know it's not Flyer Friday yet, but this is such a good teaser for what is to come this weekend that I had to share it with you all. It's the Mustache 1 Year Anniversary party at the Ottobar this Friday, and one of the performers, DJ Lemz, wanted to share some mixtapes with you all to get you pumped. Check them out and dance to this until you can rip your moves Friday! - Gutter Magazine

"THE DROP: Introducing Bmore's Newest Top Trackmaster, DJ Lemz"

Baltimore's known for being a city stocked with DJs and producers who truly epitomize the concept of being "on their grind." You want to see the hardest grinding DJ in the city right now? There he is, in the person of the fresh faced young twenty-something shown above, DJ Lemz. Early into his career as a DJ, he's performed with and learned from some of the best in his craft, in having worked with Blaqstarr and been the tour DJ for Rye Rye on her inaugural Australian tour. With a style that is inclusive of many dance styles, but trends toward the hard, bass heavy type offerings of say, the Bloody Beetroots, he presents a VERY unique blend of popular concepts. Stateside Lemz has crafted tracks for ex Yo Majesty frontwoman Shunda K, as well as DC's rising Roll Wit Us All Stars. Also, he's opened for the Electric Six as well as a plethora of other groups with international renown. Lemz drops an EP this spring with DC's Dark Planet Records, and I was happy to get a few minutes with likely the busiest young DJ in the Mid-Atlantic region. Do enjoy this look at a quickly rising star in the national DJ scene.

Still working on that hot first release.
