Bio
From the Mediterranian to the Caribbean to the West Coast of the US, this singer/songwriter has been touched by an ecclectic mix of influences, from Bahamian and Greek folk music, to the music of change of the 60s and 70s, including Americn folk, rock, blues, and funk, to alternative and house music of the 80s and 90s.
Some of her strongest influences include Joseph Spence, Bob Marley, Ritchie Havens, Nina Simone, Melanie Safka, Lauren Hill, Sinead O'Conner, Michelle Ndegeocello, and Ani DiFranco.
There is nothing shallow about Lena's lyrics, and that's because she has a visceral connection to words - she understands the power of them. Lena still believes in the power of words and music to change lives, to instigate movements, to break down walls.
Lena comes from a small place, but her passion is deep and wide as the oceans which connect her to all the places she calls home - California's west coast, the Caribbean, and her ancestral home, an island in Greece.
