We Didn't Have Much

Written By: Leonard Moss, Jr & Joe Simon

Intro - ad lib

1st Verse:

If I asked you to stay would you just run away?

If I told you to go would you be knocking on my door?

What do you need? What do you want from me babe?

Tell me how I can make it better for you.

Pre-Chorus:

I don't have a lot of money, can't buy expensive things;
But what I bring to you is all that I am.

You're always there for me I'm always here for you. What else do we need to do? Living in the ghetto.

Chorus:

We didn't have much, but we got by. We didn't have much, but we didn't cry.

We didn't have much, just me and you. We didn't have much, faith saw us through.

We didn't have much, but we had love. We didn't have much, love was enough.

We didn't have much, oh we didn't have much.

2nd Verse:

All of my friends seemed to have it all;

A house full of possessions wall to wall.

They wear the best clothes that money can buy;

And popularity was at an all time high.

Pre Chorus:

Still can recall how sad they'd be;
Wishing they were as happy as you and me.

Didn't know then the things I know now; with all they had, they had nothing somehow.

Chorus:

Bridge:

Love may not be all that you need, but its satisfaction's only seed.

Instrumental Solo

Chorus

Outro Chorus:

We didn't have much, life seemed so cruel. We didn't have much, still we were cool.

We didn't have much, just me and you. We didn't have much, faith saw us through.

We didn't have much, but we had love. We didn't have much, love was enough.

We didn't have much, Oh we didn't have much. but we got by.
We didn't have much, but we didn't cry.

We didn't have much, we played our cards. We didn't have much, times they were hard.

We didn't have much, always worked out. We didn't have much, that's what God's about.

We didn't have much, hungry sometimes. We didn't have much, it stills blows my mind.

We didn't have much, our love was strong. We didn't have much, we carried on.

1st Verse:

Its the same old story man and woman fall in love. I always heard it told spent my life dreaming of.

Its a fantasy, wishing it'd happpen to me; to find myself a lover for eternity.

Been hurt so many times, tired of all the stupid games. I'd given up on love can no longer stand the pain.

Its a fantasy, wondering why not me? I deserve a girl as fine as she.

Then you came along and now I see, yeah. All this time you were waiting for me.

Now I know that dreams do come true, Since I found you, since I found you.

2nd Verse:

I asked the lord please send me someone real. Who'll change my mind and help my soul to heal.

Is it fantasy or could this really be?
Being with you I never felt so free.

You smiled at me, then and there I knew. My visions of love were coming true.

Its a fantasy both of our hearts yearn. The story goes on, the pages turn.

Pre-Chorus:

The tale is the same it was meant to be. What's so special this time, it finally happened to me.

Cyber Love

Written By: Leonard Moss, Jr. & Joe Simon

1st Verse:

I couldn't wait to get home so I could go on-line. Everyday after work chatin' at our usual time.

We never met before but I feel like I know your face; No inhibitions or fears in our space.

You tell me all of your secrets and problems too. I tell you mine, I feel so close to you.

We were both so lonely just searching for a friend; Never thought we'd find love by just dialing in.

Chorus:

Cyber love, can't believe it all started from a little chat room.
Cyber love, just browsing the web to overcome our gloom.

Cyber love, checking out your pictures and all your stuff.
Cyber love, can't believe I found from an on-line touch.

2nd Verse:

We decided to meet at a neighborhood bar. I ordered some wine, while she waiting in her car.

I looked around at all the faces in the crowd. I wondered if she was just foolin' around.

She finally came in and I knew that it was her.Our eyes connected so I decided to incur.

She was everything that I ever dremt of. We hit it off and its all thanks to our cyber love.
