DL is an all-new collaborative, exploration of the big bang theory applied to Dance Music & Film. What you get is a combination of very different energetic frequencies colliding and becoming one. The tenaciously determined erratic and yet humble energy of Leonard Liao (monkey) combines with the un-tamed cutting edge energy of Eddie Davis a.k.a. “Poppinz” (dragon) to form all new vibreashunz and reach subconscious frequencies beyond the 5 or 6 senses. The two met in the early-ninety’s and by Divine Luck have grown a creative relationship that now embodies DL, which could mean divine luck among other meanings that according to the group “shall remain a mystery”.
Leonard Liao is known in the Asian American circle and local New York club for his song “Youngboys” and his video, which establishes a presence in the Asian American community through the Asian American International film festival and was number one on Music Nation charts three weeks straight.
A native of Chicago, Eddie Davis a.k.a. “Poppinz” has worked from coast to coast in the US, UK, Canada and Germany since the late 80's. The other half of the duo Hanson & Davis, who topped the charts with the song, "Hungry For Your Love", a song that has resonated onward into timeless compilations, Eddie has also worked with stars such as Larry Levan, Whitney Houston, K-Ci & JoJo, and Colonel Abrams.
A drummer & Keyboardist all his life, Eddie has developed a Dynamic signature that is undeniable in all his productions. His unique style embraces all “genres”. Eddie Davis' music is strong and driven by an undeniable emotional presence. Always with something to say, His lyrics range from deeply personal and philosophical, poetic to social, political with surprisingly clever humor.
With more than a decade of expertise in music, Eddie Davis, The producer and singing half of that 1980's classic, "Hungry For Your Love", is still going strong as a producer, musician, collaborator and performer.
Now Eddie Davis has combined forces with Leonard Liao to create DL and the battle is on. Creativity is the final frontier…. A dance that balances all opposing forces” and manifest unstoppable energy.
Now performing “The Beginning and The End”, a pop-dance version of the debut release “Bang Your Booty” by DL and the first of 3 distinct mixes that are soon to unfold.
