Bio
"León" is the band of the young multi-instrumentalist singer/songwriter León Veremis from Athens,Greece.
Born in London to Greek parents,he has since been a traveler.As a teenager, León soon drew the attention of the music community in Athens by forming bands such as "Mimosa's Dream".
In late 2009 he formed the multi-member band "León" with other young instrumentalists of the city.
His music is a multicultural blend of sounds influenced by a variety of genres such as Greek and Mediterranean music (e.g Mikis Theodorakis), the new wave and pop of the 70's (e.g The Police,Talking Heads) and the french euro-disco music of the 90's (e.g Daft Punk).
León's debut album "Futrue" (released December '10,Archangel Music) is based on the funky sound of the ukulele and is characterized by Greek dances and joyful,lyrical choral choruses.The album was produced by Ottomo and Josh Clark (Beirut).
