Bio
Who Are Leopard Rays?
Hartlepool. A town that is passionate about football, art and music is the current home of Indie/Rock band Leopard Rays. Formed in 2018, founding fathers: Luke Dawkins, Sean Mccloskey, Tom Pattison and David Wilcox came up with the band name when they discovered a species of whipray whilst on holiday in Florida. They simply saw that ‘Leopard Rays’ was cool enough to be a band name. Lead guitarist Sean Mccloskey hails from Chicago IL and he puts an American twist to a classic British spirit that rings through the music. Leopard Rays’ songs tend to pack thumping rhythms and enormous riffs, with some even being more intimate and gentler.
Leopard Rays take influence from the likes of Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam and Oasis but more importantly a thriving local music scene where there is no shortage of undiscovered talent. A music scene that they have firmly made a footprint on. All those in doubt of this should visit the North East of England ASAP.
Story So Far?
Highlights of the bands early stages includes performing at Hartlepool Town Hall Theatre and local music festival ‘The Gathering Sounds’ as well as the release of debut tracks ‘Wealth and Comfort’ and ‘Easy Tiger’. Not to mention packed out in both Hartlepool and Middlesbrough. The back end of 2018 for Leopard Rays was spent in the mothership, writing and recording future hits for the band.
What’s Next?
Locked and Loaded with quality material and a few tricks up their sleeve, Leopard Rays will be setting out to leave a mark on a wider music scene within the UK as well as provide for the good people of the North East.
