Bio

Leo Tuchemann is a Brazilian musician who got his bachelors degree - summa cum lauda - in America (CalState,Northrdge.) and was voted outstanding music student in his class. add a few extention courses at UCLA on film scoring and orchestration. He's released an instrumental album called Colorama, in colaboration with top dj and Brazilian producer Marcellinho da Lua (from the worldly known group Bossacucanova)
In his recently released cd "O Olho da Pedra and other chacunduns" ( Rob/ Arterial Music ) Leo uses the simplicity of the basic guitar groove informally known as "chacundum" to present a wide variety of catchy songs sung in Portuguese, all of which sticks so nicely to everyone's hearts and minds, and the unity of this album is exactly the diversity in styles, ranging from brazilian-reggae, to "rocky-groovy-songs" to nice ballads full of breathtaking backing vocals, unusually natural crescendos in dynamics, trombone lines, Hammond organs, cello, whistles and spacious electricguitars, all of it driven by the nylon stringed guitar playing the "chacundum" rhythm. As a special guest on the album, one of Brazilian greatest regional-rock artists ever, Zé Ramalho.
