Bio

Lerner was formed in late 2002 after a search for musicians through the college scene by front man Martin Ryan. Originally a 5-piece with just 1 electric guitar, Lerners earlier shows were mostly in front of friends or college lecturers.

Having broken from the college scene in mid 2003, the band took off on their own. Support slots to Martin Finke, Mark Geary and more recently, Kila has given Lerner a house hold name in their home town of Cork.

August of 2003 saw the band release their debut E.P "Nothing Breaks The Night In Two", a four track E.P recorded in just 4 days.

After this came a 7 month break. Until one night in The Lobby Bar, they made their comeback to a sold out crowd.
Most of 2004 was spent gigging to build the name but in the latter part of the year, the band went into the garden shed. Rehearsals started for, what would be their first album, "..still, waiting..". Recorded in the foothills of Ventry in Co. Kerry with producer supreme Karl Odlum, it was then release to rapturous reception. It recieved four stars(out of five) in the Irish Examiner and some songs starting getting heavy airplay on local stations.

But the release of their debut album saw the band changing band members. Out with some in with the new. Anto' & Ali both fitting in to the band on drums, vocals & vocals respectively.

2006 will see the band head in the same direction as the 2 years previous and record a whole new record with the prospect of a single release along the way.
