Bio

At the young age of 7, Leroy started singing with neighborhood friends. It was at this tender age that they began to teach each other vocalizations, thus began the forming of the group "The Sensational Stars." Leroy states, "Will Evert, of the very first group that I was with seemed to have a lot of knowledge when it came to singing at that time, but it was my mother Linnie Burks, who introduced me to Gospel Music." The group would sing any where they could draw an audience at school or on street cornors. After leaving school while living in Houston, Texas, Leroy recorded his first single with Atlantic Records. Slim, and Clarence of the Five blind boys of Alabama are who he has been identified with. Some say he also sounds like Willie Banks formally of "The Jackson Southnaires."

1970, Leroy started with "Slim and the Supreme Angels" as a lead and background singerhe was with them for over ten years. 1980, Leroy began singing background with "The Five Blind Boys of Alabama" until 1985. Leroy then became a lead singer with "The Messenger" of Jackson Missisippi until 1997. Leroy then decided to start his own group "Leroy Burks and The Connection." 1998, The Connection record its first album together titled "Rescue Me". Since the "Rescue Me" album Leroy Burks and The Connection has recorded a second album on Quartet Boyz Records entitled "Connected by Grace".
