Bio

The traditional songs and dancing melodies of Quebec are no secret to the members of this Quebec City band, among the leading lights in a new generation of folk musicians. They reshape little-known musical treasures from the past in an energetic yet subtle way, blending fervour and a sense of humour only equaled by their talent as multi-instrumentalists with a knack for musical arrangements.
The reputation of Les Chauffeurs à pieds is well-established, having led them to the most important folk festivals in Canada and Europe, and as official representatives of Quebec at the tenth summit of the Francophonie in Burkina Faso. They have also collaborated with local legends Richard Desjardins, Gilles Vigneault, and former members of La Bottine Souriante, with live performances broadcast no less than three times on national radio stations all across Canada. Their five albums have been lauded by critics, receiving nominations for many important awards. A sixth is on its way for spring 2008.
Why not import a slice of Quebec City's 400th anniversary celebrations by inviting the old city's emblematic traditional music ensemble in 2008? Les Chauffeurs will be celebrating their own ten years on stage!
