LES JULIAN - JUMP RIGHT OVER THE MooOON MUSIC

“LJ writes songs to make you laugh and think. His audience laughed ...heads bobbed...it was like magic!” The N Y Times

“LJ has created a recording to stir the imagination and create new possibilities for life!” Booklist

LES JULIAN - has entertained thousands of children and adults in hundreds of schools, colleges, libraries, museums, senior centers, park and recreation shows, theaters, arts festivals, hospitols and hospices for over twentyfive years. His school and family performances showcase his award-winning original songs and illuminate universal themes of human life while celebrating the diversity of the world through an array of exciting musical styles. On nylon string and electric guitars, as well as mandolin, with an unforgettable voice and rubbery storyteller’s face, Mr. Julian is a singer of stories that one critic said, “...delight and transport.” His songs both entertain and educate and are appropriate for many types of programs including: School Assemblies, Festivals, Performing Arts Series, Benefits, Concerts and Special Events.

LJ is a past president of the Connecticut Songwriters Association, has won the New Haven Advocate's Musician's Poll in the Folk category and is a winner of numerous National awards including a 1995 Parents Choice Gold Award and a 1996 American Library Assn. Notable Recording for Children. Parent’s Magazine picked his recording Color Outside The Lines as one of the five Best of 1996 in the nation. Donkey in a Ditch, a song off Color Outside The Lines written by Les and Bill Pere was singled out by Parent's Magazine as possibly "the best children's song ever about a basic dilemma: should we help our fellow creatures even if they do nothing to help us?" His release, Living In The Land Of Ooh,Aah won a Parents Choice Recommended Award for 1998. Les' 2002 CD, On My Dad's Shoulders, a collection of new uplifting songs for kids and families has been honored with a Parents Choice Recommended Award for 2002 and a 2002 National Parenting Publication (NAPPA) Honors Award.
