Bio
Naturally beautiful and beautifully talented singer/songwriter Lesley Meguid has a colorful background. She was born in New York, where she first attended music school at age 3, her father was a descendant of an Egyptian Sheik and her mother was a Swiss air-hostess. Lesley is an American citizen and moved to Switzerland at age 10. Today she is living wherever her music takes her, Switzerland, New York, New Zealand, you name it!
Lesley’s previous band "Redwood" won “newcomer of the year” in the Swiss Music Awards 2008 and Lesley was named “female artist of the year 2007” by the Swiss Media. Redwood was the all time most played Swiss artist on Swiss radio in one calendar month, Dec 2007. Lesley has however left Redwood and is now working as a solo act.
After a chance meeting in a Starbucks in Zurich Switzerland drumming legend Steve Gadd (Paul Simon, Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, James Taylor) plays on Lesley's debut album. Other contributing artists include Frank Sinatra's trumpet player Tony Gorruso, and the feelers bass player Matt Thomas.
