Bio

Leslie Gold, known as the “Radiochick” has competed in two male dominated industries, building products manufacturing, and the cutthroat radio business in the heavily male “shock jock” segment. She has created one of the most dominant brand personalities in the New York area.

Prior to her entry in radio, Gold owned and operated Bishop Manufacturing Company, a medium-sized window manufacturing company. At age 25, With a net worth of 27,000 she landed a 5 million dollar loan from a bank to purchase the then 55 employee company. She ran the company for 10 years, long paid off the loan, grew the business to 3 manufacturing locations with 160 employees, supplying hundreds of commercial and residential contractors with custom made windows and doors. In 1996 she sold the business to a Fortune 100 company for many times its purchase price.

Gold then turned her attention to talk radio, a longtime passion. and her broadcasting history is equally impressive. At WNEW, the Radiochick rapidly took the show from 17th to 3rd among men. Hosting the morning show at Q104.3, she was the only woman headlining a morning drive radio show in New York. In little more than a year she delivered the highest morning show ratings in the station’s history. Gold added television to her resume hosting a show created specifically for her, "The Radiochick on the Prowl" for Time Warner's Metro Channel. She extended her reach nationally on Sirius Satellite Radio, creating one of the most popular and exciting shows on the service. Lured back to terrestrial radio by a well publicized contract, she anchored afternoon drive on 92.3 FM.

Gold is now adding television production to her resume. She is a creative consultant for the new “Gong Show” currently airing on Comedy Central, and is shooting the pilot for her own show titled “TMI – Too Much Information” She has also has been featured or appeared as a guest on many television shows including those on Fox News, GoodDay NY, CNN, MSNBC, ABC Evening News, WB11 News, and CNBC and has been featured in print by The Associated Press, The New York Times, Newsweek, Playboy, Penthouse and Glamour magazine among others.

She is a graduate of Syracuse University and the Harvard Graduate School of Business. She lives in NYC with her significant other, rock star Carmine Appice, whom she met when he was a guest on her radio show.
