Bio

A brief Biography of Leslie:

I mainly chose to go acoustic to bring it back to how it used to be, a great song that doesn't require all the bells and whistles in order to be a great song (Though they are nice sometimes).
I try not to be at all pretentious about the music I write. I write about what I see and hear in order to evoke a response; good or bad, to make people feel and think. I put it to a hopefully catchy tune and hope that whoever reads or listens will be interested enough to keep listening.

I have been playing around in Omaha bands since '98 (Stranded in Time, Theodore, Lindsay Donovan, Better in Eleven, Curbside Motel, Flyover Country, Hello Stop...)
I have played everything from Hard Rock to Country and have finally settled on my roots: Classic Rock/Folk
I am now usually on stage with only a guitar and harmonicas. Though, every chance I get, I'll still have some friends come and sit in with me.

Finally, after years of playing around town in bars, clubs, venues, schools and pretty much anyone who would have me, I realized I need to do it or quit it, which is where most musicians end up I suppose. I am not really sure what else I would do, and I really don’t love anything else. So I keep plugging away.

I have played and /or toured with the likes of:
Will Hoge, Josh Kelly, Ludo, An Angle, Sleeping at Last, The Jamestown Story, Names Without Numbers (RIP), Stavesacre, Brighten, Philmore and Alan Morphew.

My inspiration has come from a wide variety of influences such as:
Queen, Neil Young, Thelonious Monk, The Allman Brothers, Billy Holiday and anything Clapton took part in.
And modern influences by: David Bazan, Wilco, Feist, Death Cab for Cutie, and Maylene and the Sons of Disaster.

I have recently finished recording my Third album, which is my first full length album “Deeper closets for darker secrets” and will be releasing it independently this up coming summer. It is a slightly lighter and more up-tempo collaboration of songs written over the past 8 years.

In the meanwhile, I keep on the road, and do the best I can. Hitting new cities, making new friends and trying to make sense of anything I can.
