With a background stemming from punk/hardcore. Richard started playing seriously with his first band when only 12 yrs old, started with his friend jon stamm After about 3 years with that band and several name changes. Richard left that band to concentrate on different styles of music as the band (for the moment, now Redding) was going for a more broadend sound. Within a year after his departure from the band they saw alot of local success and aclaim only to be signed by Rock Ridge music, and have their debut cd recorded with and by Chris Henderson of 3 doors down fame. While Redding was recording their debut, Richard had switched lanes completely going from pop/punk to pop. To a hardcore/metal band, named An Escape To Retreat. With several headlining shows at some of the st. Louis areas biggest venues, small tours, and a worldwide release EP, on December 28, 2007 aetr played their last show as a full unit. From January 1, 2008 not only did Richard start what is now known as Letitbeat! Productions, but also started writing with Joel hinrichs, and Justin unterseh in hopes of starting a new band to follow in the moderate success of Aetr. Since then Richard has been on a terror writing street anthems, club bangers, pop songs, and rock tunes, so stay tuned for things coming out of the LIB camp!
