Bio

Let's Be Leonard is a group of rockers hailing from Saratoga Springs, NY. They're road warriors, they're lovers, laughers, thinkers. They've thrown more frisbee than all of their extended families combined, and they can certainly put on a hell of a show.

It's been over three years since the group first came together and kicked off a celebration of sorts that triumphed in a debut record, 'Cow.' The record received some solid support around upstate New York as well as a spoonful of national attention. "Jump Ship" and "Rocky Road" would prove to be landmark tracks from the record, while it's entirety would serve as the building blocks of an always-expanding live show.

The band soon developed a live show that flirted with comedy as much as heartbreak. They'd awe a crowd with absurdity just as soon as they'd impress one with technical skills and loose improvisation. The boys liked just loved to play and have a good time, loosed folks up a bit and make em feel stuff. They began to travel across the northeast but they wanted to stretch their legs a bit more. It was time to hit the road.

Slow Rider, the official school bus of Let's Be Leonard, was purchased from a family farm in rural Vermont. The boys then got to work and converted the classic school bus into a fully loaded tour home that has generated plenty of dropped-jaw expressions among passerby's.

And so Leonard was on the road, heading down the east coast, the west coast, as far south as Texas and as far north as Wisconsin. Most of the continental U.S. was visited in this early time of touring that was as much of an exploration of the country as it was a display of the band's original rock and roll.

In between long country-spanning tours, the band got busy with their next project: 'Static'. The sophomore record, just released in July of 2018, started out with some of the tunes being written as far back as 2015 and with the recording process beginning in 2016. Over the next two years Leonard would work with former member and producer, Evan Marre (of Russel the Leaf), in order to carefully sculpt the bands most detailed work yet. Where 'Cow.' was as much a display of the band's youth and initial chemistry, 'Static' would make a showing of the band's chemistry as they matured with each other.

In 2017, the band continued to tour, seeing some bigger stages and rocking a few of their first festival plays. Production would also begin on a new venture; a film shot to the entirety of 'Static'. The band storyboarded the videos to be true to the songs individually as well as following a plot that runs the gamut of 'Static'. Starring Nick Wilsey, the story follows a man as he seeks peace and love with a primary love interest who is a mop. The film was displayed alongside the record debut and released at the end of 2018.

The band will continue to write, record, and tour throughout 2019 and are looking forward to some very notable festival appearances come summer.
