Local recording company Wicker Records proudly announces the interview of bilingual Christian artist Letty Guval on the Sounds From the Spires talk show, The Catholic Channel on SiriusXM radio. Hosted by Dr. Jennifer Pascual, Director of Music, St. Patricks Cathedral, New York City, the hour long interview features several songs from Letty’s latest CD, “His Name Is Jesus/Su Nombre Es Jesús” and examines Letty’s dramatic journey from 1990s Tejano Music Star, her conversion to Christianity, her Music Ministry, and now even her own Pandora Radio Station. The interview will air four times this weekend, May 3 and 4: Saturday 1-2AM, Sunday 12-1AM, 6-7AM, and 8-9PM, four times May 24 and 25, same hours.
“His Name Is Jesus/Su Nombre Es Jesús” is the result of a multi-year project and her return to Wicker Records after a fifteen year hiatus. “I insisted that it be bilingual, and that the same songs should be in both English and Spanish” relates David Wicker, owner of the company. “I knew that to do this would be a gamble, as I’m not aware of any other project like it.” he continued. “His Name Is Jesus/Su Nombre Es Jesús” has garnered four First Round nominations for the Latin Grammys: Album of the Year, Best Engineered Album, Best Christian Album (Spanish Language), and Best Short Form Video. Letty Guval became popular during the Tejano Music explosion of the 1990s. She toured extensively, including an invitation to the White House by the Clinton Administration. In 1999 Letty converted to Christianity and became a member of John Hagees Cornerstone Church where she joined the choir, the praise team, and was their bilingual soloist (1999-2003). In addition to ministering in different churches and womens events, Letty Guval currently teaches Bible Studies to women and children, and serves as Song Leader alongside her husband/Pastor at Church of Grace (Robstown, Texas), affiliated with the Southern Baptist of Texas Convention. Her recent recordings include Tú y Solo Tú, a Tejano Christian CD, and His Name Is Jesus/Su Nombre Es Jesús, a bilingual Contemporary Christian CD, released July 25, 2013.

Letty Guval se hizo popular durante la explosión de Música Tejana de la década de 1990. Ella viajó extensivamente, incluyendo una invitación a la Casa Blanca por la Administración Clinton.
