Bio
Combine a mix of intricate riffs, complex vocal harmonies and inventive beats, and youve got four piece Brisbane band, Levic. Like the electrochemical equation they are named after, Levics formula for song writing is also producing some exciting results.
With the current line-up being together since mid 2008, Levic have settled into a creative rhythm, now producing their best work since the bands conception in 2007. Incorporating a mixing-pot of influences and genres, while drawing inspiration from bands such as Cog, Sparta and Anberlin, Levic have been able to distinguish themselves from other likewise Brisbane bands, while still maintaining a fresh rock sound.
2009 saw Levic self release their first EP. The self titled EP moves from a high-energy rock number in Soon Enough to driving guitar licks and a catchy chorus in Chameleon. The third track, Lapse is an instrumental track, which demonstrates each members comfort in moving around their respective instruments. With the band consistently writing new material, hopefully there will be a new release on the way.
Levic pride themselves on delivering the end result in an exciting and well rehearsed live set, and have played a range of venues around Brisbanes Fortitude Valley, including Rics, The Valley Studios, Rosies and the Step Inn. It was the end of 2009 that saw Levic step into the spotlight, competing in the worldwide battle of the bands competition, Emergenza, Levic out mustered many fine bands to reach the Brisbane final. Finishing fourth in the final unfortunately saw them miss out on securing a spot in the Australian final by only a few votes.
Coming off that relative success and with the band full of confidence, 2010 is shaping up to be a big year for Levic.
