Still working on that hot first release.

Harpists Dan Levitan & Anna Maria Mendieta have performed together with symphony orchestras for many years and by popular demand have joined together in forming their own Harp Duo performing all styles of music for concerts and private engagements.

Bach, Mozart, Respighi, Spanish & Latin composers, Puccini Opera sets, Strauss Waltzes, Andrew Lloyd Webber and more…

Anna Maria Mendieta, principal harpist with the Sacramento Philharmonic and Opera, has performed with orchestras and chamber music groups across the country including the San Francisco Symphony, San Francisco Opera, San Francisco Ballet, Russian National Orchestra, and Russian State Ballet. She has performed for Pope Benedict XVI, President Clinton, President Gorbachev, the King and Queen of Spain; for National Hispanic Week in Washington D.C.. Ms. Mendieta has been honored with concertos especially composed for her including a commission award from the American Harp Society.

With many albums to her credit, Anna Maria has appeared in movies, television, NPR, and the Emmy Awards. She has performed with Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, Frank Sinatra Jr., Olivia Newton John, and Barry Manilow, who calls her his “favorite harpist”.

Ms. Mendieta is recognized internationally as a pioneer in performing Argentine Tango music on the harp with praises published by The American Symphony Orchestra League as an “exceptional and charismatic [concerto] soloist”. Her creation of “Tango del Cielo”, a international touring concert-show, and award winning album have garnered eleven international awards, was #2 on Billboard’s Classical Crossover Charts, and was a Grammy finalist. When she’s not pulling strings, Anna Maria is out on the dance floor as a part of the show.

Dan Levitan is the consummate musician holding contracts as the Principal Harpist with four professional orchestras:  Marin Symphony, Symphony Silicon Valley (orchestra formed in place of San Jose Symphony, where he was Principal Harpist until its closure), Ballet San Jose, and most recently Santa Rosa Symphony.

In addition, he is the "first call" harpist with the San Francisco Opera; having performed for productions including music by Puccini, Strauss, and Wagner.  He has rehearsed, performed, and recorded for the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra and the San Francisco Symphony.

As a soloist, Dan's concerto performances were praised by the San Jose Mercury, the San Jose Metro, and the Marin Independent Journal with quotes such as:

“impeccable virtuosity,” “reaching a new plateau of musicality,”  and “It was played to virtual perfection.”  Dan’s debut performance of the harp concerto written for him,  commissioned and premiered by him, received overwhelming praise from the San Jose Mercury “a well-deserved standing ovation!”

Dan's recording credits include Benjamin Britten's A Ceremony of Carols, Claude Debussy's Trio for flute, viola, and harp, works by Lou Harrison, and numerous T.V. and film scores.
