This past month, Peterborough rockers Levon released a new self-titled album, and held a CD release party on 4/20, because that’s obviously an awesome idea. So far, three tracks off the album have been released for free online: “Side Of The Road,” “Belong To You,” and “Transportation Blues.”

Closing the night out are Peterborough's Levon. What is there to say about these guys? They are what rock is supposed to be about. Last time I saw them, they went on as early as possible not concerned about waiting on people to show up. Why? They wanted to play as long as possible and try to win our city over. And man are they a tight band. I guess having a headline slot monthly at the Montreal House would help with that. Please come and support this great band.

Bio
Levon formed in the spring of 2008 and is a hard-working, blue collar, independent rock band. The X-Factor in LEVON'S rock game is their ability to play dozens of original songs throughout the night, while throwing in relevant covers that depend on the crowd and venue. The sound that LEVON goes for is a modern Neil Young Crazy Horse sound, that draws on ideas from Matt Mays to Tom Petty to the Foo Fighters, to the Guess Who, to Sloan, and so on. Their style can also remind listeners of The Traveling Wilbury's, bouncing from one lead singer to the next over the course of a single song,an album or a live performance. LEVON's story, includes over 100 live performances, quotes like "It's a long way to the top, if you want to rock 'n roll" (ACDC), words like perseverance, 'thick skin', and a longstanding belief that their original music, live performance, and way of business is their 'forte', making them ready for widespread radio play and big live shows.
