Lewis Avenue

Lewis Avenue seems to have been forever in transition. Formed as a duo and turned, by accident, into a 5-piece band,
we play as anything from 2 to 5 members, so we're very adaptable. Because there are 5 of us, our influences vary greatly, but if there's one thing that brings us together, it's vocal harmony. From CSN&Y to modern country, such as lady Antebellum and Little Big Town, to name a couple. What sets us apart is that although we are a cover band, we play a lot of material that very few other bands cover. There are many songs in our playlist, that we've never heard anyone else play.
Our story began at the hospital where 4 of us are employed. A nursing assistant, a Music Therapy director, a painter and a nuclear med tech. John had been asked to write a song for the hospital's 10th birthday celebration and i (Martin) was asked to add some harmonies to the song. The Music Therapy program has volunteer musicians who perform for patients and visitors. After hearing John play, i volunteered
to perform with the program, provided he would play guitar. Then i managed to persuade Denise to sit in on some songs with vocal harmonies and that's when the whole thing started to snowball. We are now at 5 members, but who knows what's next.................
