Legally deaf until the age of 6, Lewis Hensley dedicated his life to music after picking up his first guitar. Born December 22, 1985, Lewis has followed the footsteps of music legends such as Michael Jackson, Prince, Marvin Gaye, Queen, and others in attempt to carve out his own iconic image amongst the music scene.
He struck gold with his first serious performance at a talent show in which he sang from his soul and played the guitar with his heart before a full house. The reaction was phenomenal and the path that he would follow was set before him. Now with 14 years of experience under his belt, and an uncanny ability to write, play and sing, indications only point straight up for this young talent.
Lewis started his main stream career performing with his band The Chesterfield Bridge before large venues such as the Fillmore Theatre Detroit and hip hop Mecca, St. Andrews hall. He’s recently graced the stage at leading venues in Detroit such as Bookies and Chelis, home of the famous hockey player Chris Chelios. Lewis recently won the talent showcase for Detroit radio station, hot 102.7fm, before a packed auditorium of roaring fans.
Lewis has recently diversified his talents by collaborating with established industry artist, including the likes of singer/song writer Destenee (singer/writer/producer), K.I.D.D (producer) and Chuck Alkazian(producer).
Lewis gives credit to his cousin, song writer Jay Thomas for a large part of his musical inspiration, “He made me want to perfect the art of great songs. I try to make music that is compiled of upbeat, sexy, smooth fun and carries a deep passionate vibe!
Diverse audiences will embrace Lewis as an ambassador for College kids, but his look and ability to connect with all people solidifies him as an emerging talent labels will soon have to bid over. Major labels can benefit from his work ethic and ability to song write and work with all genres. Not to mention a growing following.
2010 holds many promises as Lewis prepares for an EP release, recording new music towards a full length album release. Future collaborations with well known artist, producing and writing for others Lewis leaves us with this, "I strive to give my fans songs with truth and meaning." -LH
