Lexi Keller

Lexi Keller is a versatile singer/songwriter. She plays guitar, slide guitar and her homemade lap-steel amongst various other instruments. She has been writing for the past eight years and performing at various venues around Melbourne such as the Elwood Lounge, One-six-one, Zimmer Bar, Vineyard, Perseverance Hotel, East Brunswick Hotel, Ruby’s lounge and Noise Bar, in Byron Bay she has played at The Rails, The Pass Café & Bangalow Hotel. She is now in Perth and has begun playing at Mojos, the Indi Bar and the Leederville hotel.

After receiving a grant from the Australia Council in 2003, Lexi recorded her first full album titled ‘Momentary Lapses of Confidence’ at Metropolis Audio in Melbourne. She worked with some fabulous engineers/producers including Ross Cockle and Siiri Metsar.

Lexi’s inspiration and motivation come from her passion for people, their feelings and the fascination with the human ability to rise above fear and misfortune. She is largely inspired by truth and seeks this in the subjects of her songs.

On her journey from Classical to original roots music Lexi has been inspired by artists such as John Butler, Ben Harper.

The overall sound of Lexi’s music balances intimate guitar picking with roots and blues slide/lap-steel playing. This enables her to encompass a wide range of energies and capture a number of different moods in her performance. Vocally Lexi has a warm lucid quality and her lyrics resonate in all the cavities of the human spirit.

Lexi Keller is currently looking forward to a lesson with John Butler this year some time. She has been mentored extensively by Mia Dyson one of Australias finest young singer/songwriters. She is looking at moving to the States to pursue her career in music and work with Well known producer and musician.original artist Gilli Moon. She looks forward to continued vocal training with Seth Riggs also.
