LEXcann

Young and motivated, aspiring female rapper LEXcann of New Orleans, Louisiana, is making her voice known in the southern United States. Raised in a family of entrepreneurs, LEXcann had big business potentials since she was born in 1993. "Ever since I was young, I knew I would work for myself and own my own business. Little did I know that my business would be in the music industry, but it's just crazy how God makes everything fall into place sometimes."

LEXcann's interest and talent in music was discovered when she picked up the drumsticks in fifth grade. From rock to rap, she had an "ear" for music and could replicate just about any beat that she heard. By her early teens, she was recording her own raps to throwback Lil Boosie instrumentals with her younger brother.

"You win some, you lose some, but you learn... ALWAYS."

At thirteen, her life took a major turn when her parents split. This effected her in negative ways, LEX became uncontrollable. After getting arrested and kicked out of high school, the sixteen year old was sent to boarding school where she graduated in 2010. She continued to college at The University of Louisiana at Lafayette for a Business/Marketing degree. It was here that she started writing and recording again during her free time. On her nineteenth birthday she booked her first show at her cousins club, The Venue, in New Orleans. Realizing that this is what she lives for, LEX was determined to make music her career.

After three semesters and a 3.8 GPA under her belt, LEXcann dropped out of college to pursue her music career and moved back home to New Orleans, where she met her mentor, Raj Smoove. "I went straight from my MacBook to the Pros" said LEXcann when explaining that Raj Smoove's studio was the first studio that she ever recorded in. Inspired by Smoove's skills in creating music, LEXcann has learned a great deal about the music making process in this short period of time. Today, LEXcann and Raj Smoove have produced and recorded a variety of singles, which will be available on iTunes in the near furture. Aside from making music, LEXcann opened her own business and created her own brand LeXTACY. In the midst of using her LeXTACY collection to fund the production of her music, her TradeMark has become an iconic logo in the south.

Over one year since she's moved back home, LEXcann has now worked with various local artists and producers. She recently finished working with Base Camp Studios, located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on her first major project, DOWN TO EARTH, Hosted by DJ Raj Smoove. Her main feature track, "Activist," which she collaborated with Kevin Gates and another BWA artist, Percy Keith is featured on this mixtape as well. From anger and sadness to success and partying, the diverse music that LEXcann creates is guaranteed to get your day rollin', and it's just the beginning.
