Bio

Hailing from our nation’s capitol, Lee Adams, aka *L Fame’s colorful melodies, captivating rhymes, and hip-hop-meets-nerd style have made him a local sensation. From the shores of Virginia Beach to the streets of Queens, New York, his voice can be heard, and influence can be felt all along Interstate 95. Working the local DC teen circuit since his junior year in high school, *L fame’s musical talents have earned him spots on DC Area stages – opening for recording artists Rich Boy, Cassidy, Wale, and Mumbo Sauce – all without formal training or a record deal. At 15, *L Fame started writing his own songs, and one year later, knew his diverse lyrical content was getting through to his listeners, when after performing at a high school talent show, the girls in the audience rushed the stage. “I’ll never forget that moment,” remembers *L Fame. “Ever since I was a kid, I knew this was my future, because it’s such a huge part of my past” says *L Fame. “My father was a singer in college; my uncle is a world-class drummer who’s played with Gill Scott Heron and the Midnight Band; and my cousin is a go-go singer right here in DC.” Having never received a formal lesson, *L Fame has been guided by his undying hunger, dedication, and love for his craft throughout the years. Refusing to let a lack of resources stop him, *L fame taught himself how to read and write music, and even to play the piano. It is this raw talent that has earned him invitations to perform at DC Area clubs like Fur, Ibiza, Juste Lounge, Grand Hyatt, Liv nightclub, Julitos Discotec, Blu Lounge, Barking Dog, Hoop Magic Gym, Rain – and nods from the world famous Love Nightclub. He is a popular host in the DC area traveling as far as Baltimore to host various night club events. Venues such as, Love Night Club, The Park on 14th, Velvet Rope in Baltimore, Ibiza Nightclub, The Pasha Lounge, Kstreet Lounge, Ultra Bar, and 24 nightclub. Not only is he a popular face and sound in Washington DC nightclubs but he has performed at various record label showcases he has been offered multiple independent record deals and has been in close contact with various major record labels, Kotch, Def Jam, Interscope, Universal and Atlantic records. *L Fame was also featured in the spring 09 edition of Aspire magazine. So far in his career he has received placements on two “new” artist mixtapes, and has been the subject of various music blogs and both local and online radio stations. 93.9 WKYS one of the two major hip hop radio stations in the DC area recognized him as not only being the area’s best new artist but the countries best new artist. During the summer of 2009 he was asked to join his first tour raveling through the south eastern region of the United States it was the National Soul Food festival. Whether it’s a punch line in the song, his word play, or just the overall message, *L Fame’s unique approach and flow set him apart from other R&B acts. From go-go, to rap to R&B, he has music for the clubs, music to ride to, and music for the ladies. “Music was my first love. I’ve been singing ever since I’ve been able to make noise. It used to drive my brother and sister crazy, but now they know the words to my songs,” reflects *L Fame. “That’s how I know I’ve got talent.” He has had listening sessions with artists such as, Young Jeezy, Jadakiss, Rick Ross, Trey Songz, and Pharrell Williams just to name a few. He has received spins on radio shows and has been contacted by multiple Djs like Dj Drama and Green Lantern. And when it comes to performing, no one has presence on the stage like he does, and he understands that MC means “mover of crowds”. *L Fame knows how to engage a crowd and leave folks wanting more. "I keep the crowd screaming and vibing with me," he says. Not only is he a rapper and singer but he is a songwriter for himself and others, with interested and potential clients being Trey Songz, and Pleasure P. *L Fame is currently enrolled at St. John’s University in Queens, New York.
