Bio

Úlfur Úlfur (Wolf Wolf) is a recently formed rap group, settled by two guys that have been working closely for almost 10 years. Their collaboration started when it’s members, then 13 and 14 years old, started busting rhymes together in recess in elementery school at their hometown, Sauðárkrókur. Today the live together in a castle where they spend most of their spare time making music and playing FIFA.
In the year 2002 Helgi (producer/rapper/chorus-guy) won Rímnaflæðikeppni Samfés (the only rap competiton held in Iceland) and the year after that Arnar (lead-rapper) came in second. That’s when they realized that there was more to their so called “hobby” then just writing rhymes over famous instrumentals by Dj Premier. That’s when sh*t got real.
In 2008 they formed a band with three of their friends called Bróðir Svartúlfs, and under it’s wings they won Músíktilraunir (the icelandic Battle of the bands) in 2009 and released an EP album the same year. With Bróðir Svartúlfs they played all around the country with almost every musician that has ever been in an icelandic band for the next year and a half but in early 2011 the five of them decided to take a brake from each other. That’s when Úlfur Úlfur was born.
Úlfur Úlfur is first and foremost a popgroup with rap in the mainframe, but they tend to spice it with every artist – regardless of music genre – that inspires them. One might say that they look beyond the boundaries of pop/rap music, but that might be a little exaggerated. It’s for you to find out, bro.
Their first release, dropping this summer/fall, will be filled with goodies, guest acts from unlikely musicians and emotions that are gonna make you ROFL and cry, both at the same time. Recently they started doing gigs and everyone (at least one pretty hot chick) who has seen them has the same thing to say: This wolf can eat me. The other ones were also happy.
