Luiz Gabriel Lopes has just released his first official solo album, "Passando Portas"! An exquisite work, especially the new version of "O papa, o cão, a alfama", with an unusual mixture of guitar, samba and fado! No words, just listening! Luiz Gabriel Lopes is a musician, composer and interpreter. Considered by critics a promising Brazilian musical artist, he currently lives and performs in Portugal. Gabriel is a member of one of the most respected bands of the Brazilian scene, chamada Graveola e o lixo polifônico (presented here in Musicoteca in 2009), and also participates in the instrumental project "Lusco Fusco." Their sound is a mix between Brazilian popular music and some cool poetry of the bohemian life of Minas Gerais, shared with his musical friends.
Before Gabriel have this first solo album, Musicoteca assembled a collection with some of his bootleg work, done with friends and collected from the web! A simple disk, just to present this talented artist to those who enjoy good music!

O Luiz Gabriel acaba de lançar o seu primeiro disco solo oficial, “Passando Portas”!
Um trabalho primoroso, com destaque para a nova versão de “O Papa, o Cão, a Alfama”, com uma mistura inusitada do violão, samba e o fado! Sem palavras, só ouvindo! O mineiro Luiz Gabriel Lopes é músico, compositor e interprete. Considerado pela crítica especializada um promissor artista musical brasileiro, que atualmente vive e se apresenta em Portugal. Gabriel é integrante de um dos mais conceituados grupos musicais da cena brasileira, o Gravela e o Lixo Polifônico, já apresentados aqui no musicoteca em 2009, participa também do projeto instrumental “Lusco Fusco”. Seu som é um flerte entre a música popular brasileira e a poesia cotidiana da boemia mineira compartilhada com seus amigos, e também músicos. Antes de lançar esse primeiro trabalho solo, a Musicoteca reuniu uma coletânea com alguns de seus trabalhos realizados com amigos, coletados da web! Um disco simples, apenas para apresentar este talentoso artista para auqles que gostam de boa música! Muito bom, espero que sintam o mesmo!

Bio
I'm a brazilian musician, singer and songwriter, and I'm currently studying Popular Music at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais. I make part of a band called Graveola e o lixo polifônico, with whom i've recorded two albums and played in many festivals around Brazil. We've been working together since 2004, and by now we happily have a great success of public and critics in our circuit. As im one of the main composers of the band material, i begun to develop some stuff besides the group, and as i've been living in Lisbon for some time i wrote some new songs that I recorded and released as my first solo album, called "Passando Portas". This album has been very welcomed by most of the listeners and journalists that i took knowledge.
