Born Ricarla Holloway in Newport News Virginia (Bad Newz), L.G(Lyrical Goddezz) came into the world so unexpectedly. Her parents didn’t have much, so like much of the youth in today’s society she and her family bounced around from project to project and school to school. Not understanding all of the constant changes, and even more confused on how to express herself she took to poetry and short stories on ways to let her emotions run free. Like most youth she was very curious about the world and even more curious about herself. She had this deep love and passion for music. Being in a household surrounded by music she figured that it was only natural to feel this way about it, but it wasn’t, there was something different about the way she felt. When she turned 14 she realized what it was, all this time she had been in love, with music that is. So she picked up a pen and a pad and wrote her first song and hasn’t stopped since. L.G. has been in a number of groups mostly all guy groups, always having to prove herself and earning her spot. She did this many times until she realized that she had different goals and different plans. Then her goals and dreams came to a sudden halt, she joined the Military and while away serving her country, sad to say her fiancé was murdered. Taking this really hard L.G. went into a deep depression that a lot of her friends and family didn’t think she would come out of, until she received the best blessing that a person could ever receive. She had become a mother. All the inspiration and motivation she though she lost all came rushing back in full force, and this time nothing would stop her. Now she’s not just doing it for herself, but she has to make it for her daughter. Performing in countless events over the years from talent shows to open mics to children festivals, and even some celebrity events, have only made her crave the spotlight even more “I love performing it’s like a drug I can never get enough of it, this is what I was made for”. L.G is very different from all other Female Rappers. Once you hear her you won’t think “oh just another girl rapper” but you will acknowledge A Great Hip Hop Artist. This young lady is definitely a diamond in the ruff. She has already completed one album now working on the next, and she still has tons of songs and ideas just waiting to be heard. “So I would recommend that you take a close look and remember the name L.G. because in the near future everyone will be screaming it”!
