Bio

In 2005, Lamar (LDot) Hammond began commanding the attention of hip hop fans in the Northwest, most recently expanding his fan base to the greater West & East Coast regions.
L.Hammond, who is the oldest sibling of three, was born in St. Louis, MO to a single mother in the military on September 25, 1989. He was no exception to the “typical” military life as his family was often moving across the country, particularly during his elementary and middle school days. It didn’t take long for him to recognize his passion for music. When L.Hammond could finally declare a home front, he found himself sitting comfortably in the largest city of the Northwestern United States: Seattle, WA. It was here that he would begin his journey to becoming one of the most prolific, lyrical, hard-working, and dedicated rappers in the Northwest.
Jay-Z, Dipset, Jadakiss, Lil’Wayne, and Young Jeezy are just some of the popular artists that influence LDot's work. L Dot understands exactly what it takes to appeal to a crowd. With his high energy and personable delivery, he is able to perform his work with the same ease as a seasoned veteran.
L.Hammond first began to rap with a Hip Hop group called "C2C". "C2C" or "Coast 2 Coast"  was a collection of young men, who all knew each other from their families being in the military. And with each member being from a different part of the United States, thus came the name "C2C." After the group went their separate ways,  L.Hammond began his  solo career by releasing a series of Mixtapes called "The Mixtape Monster Volumes 1, 2, and 3."
After these releases, in the summer of 2007, L.Hammond was asked to make a guest appearance at DJ Hyphen’s Sunday Night Sound Session. Dj Hyphen was impressed in particular with two of L.Hammond songs called "We Gone Make It" and "You Can't Hide," which were played on Seattle's biggest Hip Hop radio station Kube 93 for two months.  But this was just the start to his up and coming fan base. His next work of art, “Faded & Famous: The Mixtape,” was released under one of Seattle’s most notorious entertainment company, Faded and Famous Entertainment, which L.Hammond is also a member of.  It was with this mixtape that L Dot began to build a big buzz locally and nationally.
L.Hammond continued his journey to be recognized locally as one of Seattle's top MCs with the release of his 2010 and 2011 projects  "The Mixtape" and "Silence of the Lames." "Silence of the Lames"  one of L Dot's more popular mixtapes, was described by local Seattle blogger Dr.Clones as "an instant west coast classic."
L Dot continues to book and perform at dozens of locations in the greater Seattle/Tacoma area as well as the Northwest region. He has opened up for major hip hop artist like Mike Jones, Too $hort, Dorrough, and Chingy. L.Hammond credits his rising success to not only the hard work and dedication he puts into his music and his company Faded & Famous Entertainment, but to his ever growing fan base which now extends all over the world.
