Bio
Billy Alford's passion for music started at an early age in Dallas, TX. The scene was hot and his friends and band mates included Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Johnson, and Uncle John Turner. The late 60's found Billy playing bass in honky tonks around West Texas. The 70's found him in London working with IRS recording artist "The Truth". He was also working with sessions with Mark Hudson and David Dundas. Lots of touring Europe and the US took up his time.
A move back to Dallas in 1987 found Stevie Ray Vaughan and Liam hanging out together again. Stevie had asked Billy to play bass on some tracks for an upcoming album. The unfortunate passing of Stevie cancelled those plans.
1991 found Billy in LA working on projects with Stevie Ray Vaughan's manager Alex Hodges. It did not take too long for him to become disillusioned with the business. Moving back to Texas, Billy found inspiration in formed metal art. His metal art objects are still a passion that he spends time with today.
Trading his 1970 Fender Jazz bass for an old Fender Stratocaster, Billy has spent the past few years honing his chops on guitar and putting the songs in his head and heart to paper.
The result is a brand new 13 song CD of burning rock music, crafted with the blues and soul roots so close to Liam's heart.
Consumate professionals in the studio and on stage Liam Alford and Amongst Our Tribe will bring a powerful perfomance of great music to your venue, tour, or festival.
This is the real deal!!!
