Bio

Liam spent his early years playing Traditional Irish Music and Ragtime Guitar around the North-West of England then moved to London playing solo piano in pubs before forming rock band The MGs who became a fixture on the burgeoning live music scene of the late seventies. In the early 80s Stray Cats producer Dave Edmunds covered Liams song One More Night on his first Arista album DE7th which led to a song writing contract with Rod Stewarts publishers Riva Music.

In addition to gigging and recording, Liam became involved with theatre; writing and performing. Award winning productions In the UK and Europe followed with several shows in Londons West End. Liam began working with John Otway, culminating in Liam producing and co-writing Johns single The New Jerusalem on WEA Records.

Liam then went on to work with rockabilly/psycho - country band The Blubberry Hellbellies. Liam toured Germany with them and played various gigs around the UK.
More theatre, gigs and sessions followed, which led to Liam setting up The Lonesome Pine Review which was a loose association of like-minded lovers of Country/Honky Tonk and New Orleans Funk. In 1994 Liam joined The Avengers Big Roll Band once referred to as the The Shock and Awe of Jump Jive playing Big Joe Turner and Fats Domino numbers. Liam was with them for over 10 years playing festivals all over the UK and Europe and supporting the great Frankie Ford on more than one occasion and playing regular gigs with Linda Gail Lewis.

In 1999 Liam began working with Scotty Moore and DJ Fontana on a project designed to highlight the incredible contribution they made to the birth of Rockabilly and contemporary music. This led to a thirteen year working friendship involving tours of the UK and Europe and the recording of the CD Western Union with Scotty Moore. In 2006 Liam played the Ponderosa Stomp in Memphis and met James Burton. In 2007 Liam and Pete Pritchard put together a great band and toured the UK and Ireland with James Burton and special guest Billy Swan. Liam has just finished recording with Billy Swan and recently returned from working in Nashville and Memphis were he recorded at the legendary Sun Studios and played with Jerry Lee Lewis' original drummer J.M. Van Eaton. Liam was also asked to play at Scotty's Moore's 80th Birthday Party in Memphis with Pete Pritchard, Dave Briggs and Jimmy Russell. Liam is also working with Michael Weston King among others at Festivals all over UK and Europe. New tracks to be released.

Whether performing solo or with the band, Liams gigs are a great mix of the best of Rock n Roll Americana and Rocking Blues.
Liams solo recording career is now in full swing, with a new release of all new original material slated for mid 2012.
