Liam's Wake

In today's world, a man on stage with an acoustic guitar and a harmonica is rarely seen. Liam draws inspiration from many different sources to create a unique sound using all the typical tools. From listening to Celtic music as a child to dissecting Dylan lyrics as a young man, Liam has come a long way to teach himself the craft of songwriting. He carries a notebook with him at all times in case the need to scratch out words arises, and many times guitar licks will stick around for months until the right melody comes along.

Liam understands the power of song to tell a personal story that everyone can relate to. Afterall, it's not the songwriter that determines the meaning of a song, that responsibility falls upon the ears that are doing the listening.

Liam's journey has taken him from upstate New York to Australia and Iceland, back to his hometown of Philadelphia. With him settling in Philly, Liam was able to record his first record, Written in Ink. It was independently recorded and released with the help of his younger brother, Kevin, who produced and engineered it. They set out to create something organic and born out of the love music. The record has sold over 250 copies and is currently available on iTunes and cdbaby.

More recently, Liam was able to team up with some folks at MAD Dragon Records at Drexel University. Through an upper level recording class, Liam was able to work with students to record a 4 song EP, the Whiskey Solution EP. It contains a more mature sound with multiple layers and instrumentation. The EP is being praised as a wonderful piece of work that is bound to impress those that listen. A track off the EP, Passenger Side, was selected to the MAD Dragon compilation album, Unleashed II, that can soon be found in record stores across the country.

Liam has performed at such notable venues as the Tin Angel, Theater of Living Arts, Grape Street Pub, the Northstar Bar, the World Cafe and with the Philly Songwriter's Project.
