The heart of a poet; the passion of a musician; Liar and a Thief lives its life six strings at a time. Interweaving words of poetry into a melodic web, LT establishes new ground for musical intelligence.
With over forty fully composed songs and an abundance of live shows, LT remains true to the firm belief of practice makes perfect. With more shows scheduled, writing and recording sessions daily and the constant demand of business attention, LT has already become a fully operational machine on its own. Currently working with a team comprised of Manager/Agent Maria Neito, Art director/Photographer Allison Choppick and Liar and a Thiefs Jordan Arax; LT is looking forward to launching its official website early 2005.
Liar and a Thief was born over the summer months of 2004. Rising from the ashes of past projects such as Eldritch and Apollo, LT took on a life of its own once the founding member and mastermind behind the project decided in a new direction. Jordan Arax overlooks all writing, recording and business aspects (with the added help of a few team members). Arax was born in Armenia moving to Toronto at a very young age. With the life altering experience of growing up in a war torn country and the shock of moving away to a foreign land, he soon found himself turning blank pages into books of poetry and art. This passion soon lent its creative flow to an even greater power, the guitar. Discovering his love for melody, he began to write. While developing his sound, Arax found himself drawing from such influences as Sting, Stone Temple Pilots, Soundgarden and Nirvana. Everyone has a moment that paves the path of his or her destiny. A delayed flight resulting in an impromptu performance in an airport terminal caught the attention of New York producer/musician Larry Mitchell who offered Arax studio time and helped him complete his first demo recording as an artist. The seed was planted; Arax wasted no time and dived in head first into his passion, music.
With the privilege of living the 90s as a teenager, he now finds himself tapping into that decade to build the foundation for Liar and a Thief. Accompanying that harsh grunge sound with strong melody, LT is headlining the new movement of music nudging the current 80s revival out of its way.
