"Liars to the Sun"

Liars to the Sun is ramping up the press in expectation of their groundbreaking upcoming debut album. They are the problem child of 90’s grunge with modern electronic dubstep that can’t seem to be easily classified into any genre. The three members, Kris Bruynson, Adrian Stiegler, and Isaac Wild, are bringing their experimental and energetic alternative rock to venues in the winter/spring.

?

Kris Bruynson started playing guitar at age 7. However, it wasn’t long before he soon discovered that he’d much rather use the guitar to write his own songs rather than play other people’s songs. His love for music quickly developed and he found himself picking up other instruments including the piano, bass guitar, and drums.

?

He excelled in all of his music classes and would stay late most nights and write electronic music on the school computers when only the cleaning staff was around. He was encouraged by his teachers to go to university for music, and since the guitar was his native instrument he decided that he would start training to apply for university for classical guitar. However, his love for writing songs instead of playing them got the best of him and when the time came to start auditioning for university, he knew that he wasn’t ready.

?

So, he sold his motorcycle and some other assets and used the money to upgrade his old music studio.?

Kris Started DJing at local bars in Toronto. He wrote and released an electronic album which is available on iTunes under the name Nausikaa which has seen some mild success.

?

Kris met Adrian at work. Adrian has always had a passion for music since he was a child. Classically trained in Violin from an early age, Adrian was introduced into the world of Music with strong ties to classical music - attending several years at the Royal Conservatory of Music. In his early teens, Adrian fell in love with all kinds of music, especially Blues and Funk which led him to pursue both drums and especially, guitar. It was love at first sight. Playing and learning any song he could quickly became his obsession. Later, Adrian grew into many genres of music but the most interesting and inventive moments came from his love for Metal / Industrial / Grunge music.

?

It was only until Adrian met Kris, that the spark of new imagination ignited. This opened a great opportunity to experiment with a unique sound that was much different from what was usually composed in Adrian's home studio. An exciting mix of poppy electronic and industrial grime posed an exciting challenge for Adrian's guitar playing.

?

To complete their band, Kris and Adrian met Isaac Wild on Craigslist, who had been playing as a session drummer throughout Toronto. Isaac started playing drums at age 9. It was then that he discovered his passion for Punk Rock and Heavy Metal. He started playing shows with a Punk Rock band during his high-school years, and upon moving to Toronto he began session-drumming for various bands in order to diversify his sound on the drums. It was then that he found Liars to the Sun, which enabled him to combine his Rock energy with his love for electronic music.

?

Liars to the Sun is currently putting the finishing touches on their first full length album which is due in May.

They are playing shows throughout Toronto to raise hype about their coming album.

Hailing from the small southern Ontario town of Norwood, Alex has been playing drums for close to 15 years performing on stages around Toronto the likes of The Hideout, The Reverb and The Opera House. Though taking a lot of inspiration from the driving downbeat of hard rock, Alex also draws heavily from classic jazz, which he says gives him the ability to create controlled chaos on stage.
