L.I Banks was born October 2, 1987 in Dallas TX. He has four sisters and one little brother. His parents are originally from Nigeria. He was raised in Oak Cliff, which is located in Dallas. He later went on to Duncanville High School and graduated in 2005. His freshman year of High school is when he began his passion for music. He went off to Northwood University in Cedar Hill, TX; L.I Banks began making beats at this point. The next year he attended Midwestern State University. He now attends Texas Southern University. As a full time worker and college student, L.I Banks still manages to be one of the most creative MC’s out of Dallas/Houston. He has teamed up with managers Stephon "DM" McGowan and Courtney "Too Cool" Leonard and has released a mixtape by the name of “College Kid” in an effort to change the stigma that surrounds the Dallas/Houston rap scene with tracks featuring topics concerning the club scence and college. The mixtape has gained a large following underground and has gained new fans for L.I Banks. The hit single “College Bred Chic” featuring Fat Pimp has over 6,000 downloads and is being played on college radio stations and in clubs all over Texas. L.I Banks feels that every song that he creates should be a testament to both his lyrical ability and creativity. L.I Banks also models in numerous fashion shows. He is an unsigned artist/producer and is trying to work his way to the top.
