STUCK STARS/LIBERTE a popular, local musical act, announced last week the release of their latest EP entitled “The War Within” while also and unveiling plans to perform it live for the first time at famed Bath Music Festival in the U.K. on May 18.
This year marks the festival’s 70th anniversary and runs from May 11 to 27, featuring more than 50 acts headlined by international superstar Robert Plant. It takes place in Bath, located in southwest England.
Formed in 2016, Liberte is the brainchild of local singer/songwriter, Lesley Goldberg, born and raised in Andover.
After graduating from Emerson College, she moved to Los Angeles in the early 2000s to record with legendary producers, the Robb Brothers, at their renowned Cherokee Studios. Available via iTunes, the release of “The War Within” consists of five original songs and represents the collaboration of Boston talents Neil Meehan, David Kelf and '90s Beantown favorite Letters To Cleo’s guitarist Greg McKenna.
“Music has always defined the core of who I am," said Liberte on the eve of her flight to England. "Growing up and throughout my musical career, I have been heavily influenced by a variety of British greats from David Bowie and The Smiths, to Blur, Tears For Fears and Billy Brag. Even today I draw from the energy of revolutionary talents like Coldplay and Jake Bugg. Their creative and original styles resonate in my soul and the music I write.”
She added, “It is a dream come true to perform in the U.K. I am extremely proud of ‘The War Within,' so I jumped at the chance to be part of such an historic music festival, in a country that shaped who I am as an artist."

Stuck Stars is the brainchild of former frontman Lesley Goldberg and guitarist Neil Meehan of LIBERTE out of Boston Massachusetts. With flavors of bands like Nirvana, The Foo Fighters, Garbage, and early Coldplay, Stuck Stars front man Lesley Goldberg delivers seductive and noteworthy melodies with conviction, and power. Her signature voice is enveloped in tones of femininity and masculinity which sets her apart from many of the popular female artists today. "We are all stuck stars." says Lesley Goldberg "The stuck is human, always reaching and hoping to come out on the other side. The stars are the beings we all are underneath.” Guitarist Neil Meehan skyrockets the listener with his momentous guitar riffs that never leave your head. Stuck Stars want to take the listener soaring while taking them deep within themselves. Lesley’s formative work in LIBERTE, ”Forward March” EP, was recorded at the renowned Cherokee Studios (Hollywood, CA) in collaboration with producers the Robb brothers (Steely Dan, The Lemonheads, Buffalo Tom). Daniel Weddle (Drums), Kent Wood (bass), and France’s own Vincent Agache (former guitariist from Pepper Jelly) complete the band. Together they will start a REVOLUTION.
