LIDA UNA, a revamped local St. Louis band, can be described as a funky, psychedelic, midwest, "alt/indie", rock group. This quartet was formed when three musicians came together with the vision of providing quality music that was both, moving and melodic. LIDA UNA has an extensive 30 song set list that varies, in genre from rock to folk/rock, from blues to reggae - Revolution Rock!
This dynamic band has the experience of playing any size room, from smaller cafes to larger nightclubs and theater venues. You can catch LIDA UNA once a month on the "Tuesday Original Music Night" at The Baha Rock Club on Main Street in St. Charles, Missouri. Throughout 2006, LIDA UNA has performed at several other St. Louis local favorite nightclubs, such as, Cicero's, Hi-Pointe, Off Broadway, The Red Sea, Mangia Italiano, The Way Out Club, and Sally T's in St. Peters. They have just begun to tap the greater midwest music scene and look forward to playing many bars, clubs, shows, concerts and events in 2007 - regionally, nationally and beyond! In all reality, LIDA UNA plans to go global. Oddly enough, they sometimes play for beer - although cash and food are always cool when you are the not-so-starving artists or "family-men" in the band. Donations and offerings are always welcome. As LIDA UNA grows, they hope to contribute to several charitable foundations and causes. For instance, with 24 hours notice they played the South Side Rocks Grand on November 25th, 2006 to help support the local community radio of KDHX.
LIDA UNA will always try to make itself available for any legitimate benefit concert. Medicinal music is a real thing with LIDA UNA.
In cooperation with the founder/engineer of Ronchirecords (www.ronchirecords.com) and the band's drummer Ron Askew, LIDA UNA is currently recording and producing songs for a new CD/DVD to be released in early 2007. Expect to hear many new songs from the LIDA UNA crew. Carter Nieters is a very prolific song-writer and the band practices three times a week for goodness sake! LIDA UNA loves to ROCK - every other day! LIDA UNA is also world wide on the internet at www.lidauna.com and www.myspace.com/lidauna - the web sites have plenty of music downloads, pictures and artwork. Keep an eye out for LIDA UNA in the RFT, Playback STL, other local publications; as well as, the web, for more music, shows, merchandise and videos in the future.
