What began as a recording project in the early 2000's with vocalist/guitarist Carter Nieters and drummer Ron Askew, became a band in 2005. More recently Steve Ambrosius joined the band on bass. Lida Una is a mainstay of the St. Louis underground music scene. They have played many top notch St. Louis venues including The Pageant, Delmar Hall, Firebird, Off Broadway, and Blueberry Hill, to name a few, and opened for The Whigs, Hugh Cornwell (The Stranglers), Luella and the Sun, and Shinyribs.
Lida Una has released five albums: The Big Hurry (2008), Buoy (2014), Contraption (2016), In the Weeds (2017), and Five (2018).
