Life as Lions

Life as Lions are a four-piece rock and roll group hailing from sunny Glendale, CA.

The story began during the summer of 2011 in Houston, TX. Four acquaintances from three prominent Houston rock bands came together to make a new kind of rock with a familiar ring. All four grew up smothered in classic rock, and all came from families that encouraged them to follow their passions and to be creative. Once in the same room together, the mission was clear: Find an answer to the question, “What if rock and roll was just allowed to be ‘rock and roll?’”.

Together they wrote, refined, and recorded their first EP, Come And Take It. Self-produced and engineered by Houston icon Mike Thompson, their breakout first release caught like wildfire in Houston. The EP was dubbed “sonically appealing” by A&R Report and landed the group on Houston Press’s “Top 14 Bands You Should Know.” Their resulting swell in popularity immediately had them dreaming bigger.

In April of 2013, Life as Lions packed up their things and headed out west to set up shop in California. From their new base camp in Glendale, they released their sophomore EP, Still Breathing. This time the group’s again-self-produced release was mixed by Thompson and Allen Hessler (Taking Back Sunday, The Used, Every Time I Die). Armed with their experience and a new fire to be advocates for rock and roll in such a diverse city, Life as Lions set their sights on Los Angeles.

This is Life as Lions now: fresh, raw, pensive, and passionate. They're bringing straight-up rock back to the mainstage armed with poignant lyrics, piercing riffs, and hard-driving rhythm. Life as Lions represent an allegiance to true alternative music unseen since bands like Foo Fighters and Jimmy Eat World first broke onto the scene. Their powerhouse sound and thirsty fanbase are a testament to the fact that this foursome is going to be a musical force for years to come.
