Bio

LifeBlood, a hard rock band from Laurel, MD, has seen many challenges and changes since the first guitar riffs and drum beats in 2001. The band originally came together under the name Soul Fire and was a combination of rock and rap. They gradually transitioned into the style they are today and took on the name LifeBlood. In 2003 they released an independent, 3 song demo and have been steadily moving forward since. They released their first full length, independent album, “Can U Hear Me?” in May of 2006, and in May of 2008 released their single, “A Shot Heard Around the World”, recorded and produced by CR Pendleton at Pendlwood Studios in Columbus, Ohio. Their rock resounds in ever widening circles as they perform throughout their region and share the Gospel with as many as they can. All of the struggles they’ve gone through as a band and as individuals have been shaping them into the spiritually impacting and powerful new sound that they bring to us today. The band is made up of Jeremy Ephraim; singer, Daniel Pearson; guitar, Jeff Grove; bass, and Taylor Herring; drums. The best way to truly convey what LifeBlood is about is to share with you the hearts of its members.

Jeremy Ephraim, from Laurel, MD, first picked up a guitar about ten years ago after becoming a Christian. As his faith blossomed, so did his passion and musical talents. Before LifeBlood, he played in the bands Soul Fire, Until the End, and Kai X, and he is involved with the praise team at his church. Through good times and bad, he has heard God clearly tell him not to lose heart or give up. Jeremy says that LifeBlood’s recent achievements are proof that whatever direction God gives is best.

Daniel Pearson rocks out as LifeBlood’s lead guitarist. He grew up in Wichita Falls, Texas and has been playing since he was fifteen. From a young age, he has always loved music and dreamed of being able to share it with people. In 2005, God called him to move from Texas to the Washington D.C. area, and led him to LifeBlood’s home church. Since joining the band he has matured musically, deepened his relationships, and grown closer to God. For Daniel, LifeBlood is a representation of the impact God can make in our lives.

Jeff Grove, also from Laurel, MD, cranks it out on bass and fills in the gaps with background vocals. He first started to explore his musical talents in the ninth grade, playing for the church praise team, and later sharpened his skills playing in the band, Fire Alliance. Music became his main form of worship because it gave him a way to pour out his heart to God, which has helped him through some tough times in his life. In 2006, Jeff stepped in to fill the role of LifeBlood’s bassist. “I know it was God who put me here,” Jeff says. “I want to tell people there’s this awesome person… I love, adore and worship Him and wouldn’t be who I am with out Him.”

Taylor Herring lays down the beat as the drummer and the newest member of LifeBlood. Growing up in Laurel as well, he has known Jeff and Jeremy since he was eleven. He took an interest in music at a young age and started to play the drums. He has played in school bands, marching bands, and in church praise teams since then. In 2008, he accepted the band’s invitation to get on board. There was no doubt in his mind that God wanted him to do this. He wants to get out there and spread the Word, especially in a way that will appeal to the younger generations.

Their love for music and their on fire passion for God has led these guys to combine their gifts and talents to share the Gospel of Jesus in the best way they know how… Rocking Out! Their unique rhythms are combined with hardcore lyrics as they speak of the struggles to overcome our sinful, selfish natures and the reality that we are incapable of doing so by our own strength. But, thank God, Jesus has made a way. Through His sacrifice on the cross, He paid the price, which purchased our redemption. Each of these men have had their lives dramatically and eternally transformed. They strive to be examples of their faith as they live and share their music with all who will listen. Bringing the life changing power of the blood of Jesus Christ to the world is what they are all about.

As the blood that courses through our veins brings life to our bodies; Jesus must be the course of our hearts that brings life to our souls. By His blood he has given us life.
